So it's all happening this weekend!

You can go check it out for yourself on Friday night - starts at 7:30pm at Westpac Centre.

Otherwise we are going together on Saturday night for the youth night Amplify! Yeeyah. As Mike said at Eastercamp this is a fantastic opportunity to bring a friend to hear the gospel, what being a Christian is all about. If everyone at eastercamp bought 2 friends... there'd be about 9000 there!! Satellite are playing @ 7pm & there's a few other cool bands. So meet at church at 6:30pm sharp... we will leave pretty promptly to get good seats!

On Sunday night we're also doing sumthing a bit different... come along between 5pm-5:30pm bring some food to share, we are going to have tea together and then cruise on a couple of buses to the Greg Laurie event at 6:30pm. This is also a great chance to bring someone along!

Change of time...

Please note change of time for the Koru meeting this Friday night. It is now 6:30pm (not 7:30pm).

Koru starting in 2 weeks!

Koru is the name of the Intermediate Programme starting up on 5 May, run by OBY.

It will be run on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 7pm to 9pm.

This is a great chance for you to get involved, serve those younger than you, develop in your leadership skills and serving qualities.

If you are keen to get involved as a leader or helper, come along to a meeting this Friday at 7:30pm in the youth centre.

Smell a perfume & read John 12:1-8 tonight!

Come along at 7pm tonight, meeting in the church foyer for a short service (Amy running): Smell a perfume & read John 12:1-8.

This service is open for anyone to come along to.

We (OBY) are then going to go through the amazing Easter Journey together. You will hardly recognise the church! They've already had hundreds of people go through from all over Christchurch.

We'll be finished a bit earlier tonight (about 8pm) so you can go home & pack for camp.

PS - ONLY 1 SLEEP TO GO!!!

An anonymous prayer for those off to Eastercamp!

Father, I thank you for this wonderful provision of this youth camp. I pray that you will protect all the young people and youth leaders participating - both their physical well-being and their belongings.

May this time at camp be a special time to time to grow in their relationships with each other, and most importantly, may their relationship with you deepen as they draw closer to you.

Please prepare their hearts to receive the message you have for them.

Lord, I pray for the youth leaders and camp parents, that they will relate well to the youth and be available and equipped to offer your love and wisdom as it is needed. May they be able to maintain the right balance of time with the youth and also time to recharge forthemselves.

I pray for those from our church involved in security and also rubbish collection - tasks that are not always appreciated. Please equip them to serve well in these areas. I pray for the catering team - Alastair and Annette and their helpers. May all the required equipment work reliably and all the supplies arrive on time and in the right quantities.

Thank you for Amy and her team of leaders and the work they have done preparing for Easter camp. May they also be encouraged as they see You working in the hearts of the young people Father, please pour out your blessings on the group from OBY as they head out to Spencer Park on Thursday.

May the setup go smoothly and everyone arrive there safely. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen

7 days to Eastercamp!

Well done everyone who helped out at the Waltham Community Urban Fair on Friday... Anna, Andrew, Mark, Scottie, Karen, Jess, Eulita, Eulalia, Jasmine, Aliesha! You guys all did soooo well. It was pretty cold, so good effort.

All 200 sausages & Andrew's coconut ice were sold! Still got a bit of stock (chocolate, chips, cans & cookies)...

So far we have made about $85... so hopefully if we sell the rest of our stock, we would have made about $180 in total!

We will divide up the money before Eastercamp.

Last Wednesday we talked about faith that does things is alive (whereas faith that doesn't do things is dead!)... so Eastercamp is holding a challenge for all youthgroups to come up with something creative to sell on Trade Me. Something that would raise a bit of dough, so we can then donate to a nominated charity.

Have a think about what we could "sell" and bring your idea on Wednesday night! (This could be your labour, something you've made, an old toy, something you don't need...)

I made a booboo last night when announcing Eastercamp Regos close tomorrow (today)!

The final cut off date is next Monday 10th April!!

You still have time to ask a friend to come along and get them registered.
